Kati Vasti - Low Back Therapy
Kati is the Sanskrit term for the lower back and Vasti in Sanskrit means to hold. Kati Vasti is a warm oil treatment for lower back pain by bathing the lower back and sacrum region in warm healing medicated oils over a period of time to nourish and rejuvenate depleted muscles, nerves, bones and fascia, and provide pain relief. For chronic lower back conditions, a course of treatments is recommended
Not available for direct booking. A health assessment is required—please get in touch to arrange a consultation.
PROCEDURE
A dough dam is created and placed over and lower back area. The dough dam holds a pool of warm herbal medicated oil that is specifically chosen according to the condition and maintained at a particular temperature. The warmth and pressure of the oil enable deep and effective absorption through the skin to nourish and rejuvenate the underlying organs, muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues. Gentle manipulation of the subtle marma (vital energy points) enhances its healing impact. This procedure is then completed by a gentle massage. For chronic conditions, a course of treatments is recommended.
BENEFITS
Relaxing and healing effect reduces pain and stiffness in the lower back and surrounding musculature
Soothes the nerves supplying the lower back, sacrum, lower limbs, enhances local blood circulation, and relieves muscle tension.
Improves flexibility and range of motion of the lumbar joint and reduces both the intensity and recurrence of low back pain.
INDICATIONS
Low back pain
Sciatica
Spinal disorders
Muscle weakness
Degenerative disorders of the spine
